Backyard Transformation

In this backyard, the client's neighbor’s blue garage is used as the backdrop for a new patio.

Using a combination of bluestone and brick-colored pavers, the patio becomes an integral part of the design. A low stone retaining wall sweeps across the yard separating the lawn from the entertaining area.

This view of the new patio space shows the low retaining wall to the left of the picture. The retaining wall allowed the space to be level for outdoor dining. The neighbor's garage is borrowed as a backdrop for the colorful plantings. The path to the back door curves adding a dynamic flow to the path. The air-conditioning unit is concealed with a short lattice fence.
